Conor McGregor is a once-in-a-lifetime athlete and is the embodiment of a rags-to-riches story. The 34-year-old has had a meteoric rise to the top of the MMA mountain. Despite creating a massive fortune in the cage, the Irish megastar has found several ways to help his brand get bigger and better outside the octagon.
Aside from showing off his lavish houses and luxury cars on social media, ‘The Notorious‘ is known for being a photogenic person. Conor has had his personal photographer follow him for years while capturing moments with family and fans. This has led him to the idea of him gifting the fans with two documentaries.

Recently, McGregor took to Instagram to give fans a sneak peek into his upcoming documentary titled ‘McGregor Forever.’ The short clip shows his infamous leg-break injury at UFC 264, his last octagon outing. However, fans know there will be much more to the documentary than just his road to recovery.
What do we know about ‘McGregor Forever’ so far?
As per the video, Conor seems to be sharing his fresh thoughts in the aftermath of his injury. The Irish star appears to be resting on a hospital bed while describing the scary thoughts that had engulfed his head at the time.
The video ends with Conor saying, “But it’s McGregor forever, that’s it, isn’t it? like it’s done. It’s McGregor forever, and don’t you forget it.”
This tiny glimpse has sent fans into a frenzy. Titled ‘McGregor Forever,’ the 4-part documentary series is slated for a May 17 release on Netflix. And as per a November 2022 tweet from Conor, the final part of the series will be released right before his upcoming movie, ‘Road House.‘

The 34-year-old has confirmed previously that he would be the executive producer for the docuseries. The Dublin resident set to capture his journey from 2018 up until the present day. It will aim to display Conor’s efforts and commitment to where he is today. It will also shine a light on the conflicts outside his fighting career.

In another tweet, Conor alluded to the fact that the documentary will also showcase the leg injury he went in with into the Khabib fight in 2018. Each of the 4 episodes will be an hour long and will generate significant hype for his grand return to the octagon.
How did ‘Conor McGregor: Notorious’ do at the box office?
For newer fans, Conor previously had a documentary released titled, ‘Conor McGregor: Notorious.’ Filmed over the course of 4 years, the 2017 documentary gave an exclusive, all-access account of the Irishman’s career. From living in his parent’s spare room to claiming two-division UFC belts, the 1 hr 30 min film shows it all.
It features never before seen moments, giving the fans a unique look at the sporting icon’s infamous journey. Having Gavin Fitzgerald as the director, the documentary chronicled his UFC debut, all the way to his historic bouts with Chad Mendes, Jose Aldo, Nate Diaz, and Eddie Alvarez.
Not to mention, it also touched upon his iconic fight with Floyd Mayweather, which earned him his biggest paycheck so far.
Soon after releasing on November 1, 2017, the documentary made a cumulative All Ireland box office of $364,000. Following its successful opening weekend, it became the highest-grossing Irish documentary of all time at the time.
During its opening weekend, it grossed $113,595 or $189,688 including previews. It had surpassed Ken Wardrop’s documentary His and Hers. In Irish cinemas, it hit the number 4 spot. The Australian box office recorded earnings of $148,698. Whereas, the worldwide box office collections came at $154,816. Disney’s Thor: Ragnarok took the top spot with earnings of $426,872.
The public broadcaster of the Republic of Ireland, Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTÉ) recorded an average audience of 573,000 at the time. Fans speculate that the newest docuseries will surpass the previous one by leaps and bounds, considering his fanbase has only grown since 2017.
