The ‘Mystic Mac’ is back! The former UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor accurately predicts the finish of Charles Oliveira vs Justin Gaethje in the main event of UFC 274. Oliveira submitted Gaethje via rear-naked choke to end the night.
Justin Gaethje had the opportunity to become the new Lightweight Champion at UFC 274. The champ Oliveira was forced to vacate the title after missing weight ahead of the event. Hence, Justin was the only one eligible to hold the belt with a win.
But unfortunately, that was not the case! Justin Gaethje was rocked by the very first punch that Oliveira threw in the bout. However, he managed to recover quickly. Gaethje even dropped Do Bronx three times in the first round. But Justin seemed very tentative in following Oliveira to the ground and trying to finish off the bout. It went exactly how McGregor predicted it would go.
Called it. Even if he knocked him down he too shit to be able to follow him down and do anything substantial. Always Charles’s fight.
Sorry @Drake should have posted 😂
But it’s my pleasure @DraftKings, add it to my take of tonight’s winnings. pic.twitter.com/RRuja6H3Ag— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) May 8, 2022
Ahead of the main event, Conor McGregor recorded a video where he broke down how the bout will play out. In the video, he predicted that The Highlight will not have the necessary skills to put Charles Oliveira away despite dropping him. McGregor also stated that Oliveira will stay calm and come out victorious.
Conor tagged Drake in the tweet who apparently bet over $400,000 on Justin Gaethje to win the fight.
Who will Conor McGregor fight next?
UFC 274 had two marquee 155lbs fights on the main card. But the biggest winner of them all was Conor McGregor!
Michael Chandler knocked out Tony Ferguson in the most spectacular fashion possible! He called out McGregor afterwards and Conor seemed interested in the fight as well. In a tweet after the bout, Conor McGregor wrote,
I’d have a nice knock off this guy, no doubt about it. A firework spectacle. I like the 170 shout also. Tipped him over. I’m definitely game to fight this guy at some stage in my career. I see it happening after tonight. Congrats on a solid win Michael and another barnstormer.

But that was not the only call out he received on the night. Charles Oliveira also mentioned Conor McGregor in his post fight interview. Oliveira is currently the no. 1 contender for the belt. After Gaethje’s loss tonight, there isn’t any credible opponent left in the top 5 except Islam Makhachev. But Dana White already confirmed that Islam will face Beneil Dariush next.
I’m not sure I wish to cut the weight. I am really enjoying being built like a refrigerator. I feel I want to fight at this size just to watch it back lol. But I’d love to fight the Brazilian, 100%! I love Brazil and I’m unbeaten against Brazil. All KO’s. I’ve some thinking to do

Hence, there is a big possibility that Conor McGregor comes back and faces Oliveira for the vacant title. With Conor set to return in the fall, it will not be surprising to see the UFC trying to cash-in on his popularity and put him in the championship bout against Oliveira later this year.
