Ever since Conor McGregor announced retirement, he has kept himself busy with a bunch of other ventures. And Princess Charlene’s Monaco water bike challenge is one of them.
This endurance race is an attempt to raise awareness for drowning prevention. And it seems Conor McGregor is focused to excel in this water bike challenge. McGregor earlier stated:
“When I commit, I always train hard, and we plan to win! The Princess’ foundation works in over 30 countries promoting fitness and safety in water sports. I appreciate the support and encouragement I have received in Monaco.”
Conor McGregor has been seen training a lot on his endurance for this race. And his recent sprint on a mountain does give the fans a glimpse of the Rocky training montage.
“The Crossing: Calvi-Monaco Water Bike Challenge” will take place on September 12th and 13th.
What’s next for Conor McGregor?
Conor McGregor has been away from the sport since his spectacular victory over Donald Cerrone at UFC 246. Though McGregor has been keen to compete inside the octagon after his UFC return he has not been able to make his second octagon appearance of 2020.
Conor McGregor was supposed to fight the winner of Tony Ferguson vs Khabib Nurmagomedov. However, Justin Gaethje ended up fight Ferguson for the interim title and he is going to face Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 254. Conor McGregor does not seem interested to fight without the lightweight title on the line. And that’s why he announced retirement.
However, it seems that McGregor is itching to get back in the octagon as he recently called out the Diaz brothers. Nick Diaz is expected to make his return in early 2021. And that has got Conor’s attention. If Nick does make his return then this fight will make a lot of sense. McGregor is currently out of an opponent, but he has multiple super fights ahead of him. And the fight against Nick Diaz might just be the biggest one out there for him.
