18-year-old Raul Rosas Jr. picked up another convincing victory at Noche UFC this past weekend. Rosas Jr. defeated Terrence Mitchell via a TKO (punches) just 54 seconds into the bout. UFC President Dana White also joined the Rosas Jr. hype train as he explained how the youngest fighter on the UFC roster destroyed the rest of the card.

During the post-fight press conference of Dana White’s Contender Series WEEK 7, White was asked about Rosas Jr.’s performance at Noche UFC. White responded, “It was incredible. You know, he came out and you know absolutely dominated a real guy, tough guy, and looked good doing it. He got the pop.
White went on to explain how much the UFC fans love him. He said, “So, I don’t know what it was like for you guys but on on my social… I’ll give you an example like the Face-Off between Valentina [Shevchenko] and Alexa [Grasso] did 1.5 million views in less than 24 hours, he did three three million views in less than 24 hours. He doubled what the main event did and destroyed the rest of the card as far as views [are concerned]. Yeah, they love that kid.”
Shevchenko vs. Grasso was a much-awaited rematch after the Mexican fighter pulled off a submission victory at UFC 285 and won the Flyweight title. Rosas Jr. seems to have already made a mark on UFC as he surpassed the hype of this highly-anticipated Women’s Flyweight title bout.
Raul Rosas Jr. will not headline the next UFC Mexico event
Upon White’s positive response about Rosas Jr., he was asked, “Do you think we could possibly see him maybe headlining a fight night coming up soon?”
White was confident that the American-born fighter would be a part of the next UFC Mexico night. However, it seems like the UFC President still does not trust him as he would not headline it. White said, “Well, after what happened on Saturday night we’re going to Mexico. So, yeah… I don’t think, he won’t be headlining Mexico but he’ll be there so we’re already in the works on on the Mexico Fight.”

Rosas Jr. has climbed up the UFC ladder at a frightening pace. He made his UFC debut as a 17-year-old last December and won the Bantamweight bout against Jay Perrin via submission in Round 1. He lost a professional MMA fight for the first time in April at UFC 287 against Christian Rodriguez. However, the youngster fought back well to immediately get back to winning ways.
