UFC President Dana White no-showed UFC 284 post-fight press conference after missing out on the pre-fight press conference and various other media obligations ahead of UFC 284. The much anticipated PPV featuring Islam Makhachev vs Alexander Volkanovski ended on a slightly bitter note after UFC fans were left unimpressed with the outcome of the UFC 284 PPV headliner.
UFC fans were already left furious after a “lack of promotion” for UFC 284 that saw Islam Makhachev slam the UFC President for overlooking UFC 284 for Power Slap. It won’t be wrong to say that the absence of Dana White hurt the promotion of UFC 284, and the fact that he was not present in a fight that had two title fights is a cause for concern.
Dana White has been attended any UFC PPV since 2023 as he was also missing from UFC 283 which featured Glover Teixeira vs Jamahal Hill for the light-heavyweight title.
Why was Dana White missing from UFC 284 post-fight press conference?
Dana White did not travel to Australia for the UFC 284 PPV. Recently, he revealed at the announcement of The Ultimate Fighter Season 31 that he would be meeting Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler on Monday, following the Super Bowl. It’s safe to say, White has decided to put his focus on The Ultimate Fighter which will stream on ESPN for the first time in the history of the UFC.
Moreoever, Super Bowl fan Dana White will likely be present for the mega NFL event that goes down this weekend. UFC’s next PPV will take place in Las Vegas and feature the return of the former light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones, who will make his heavyweight debut in a title fight against Ciryl Gane.
One would expect Dana White to make his presence felt in what could arguably be one of the biggest UFC PPVs in recent memory. UFC 285 goes down on March 4, with the promotion traveling to London in the same month for UFC 286. The hugely anticipated trilogy fight between Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman will go down on March 18 in the United Kingdom.
