Floyd Mayweather signed a deal with UFC to be involved in a fight in 2020. Early 2020, Mayweather Promotions also released posters featuring Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather vs Khabib Nurmagomedov. However, due to a series of personal tragedies, and the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, all the plans have been put on hold. Despite the unwavering circumstances, UFC President Dana White revealed that he is still in talks with the undefeated boxer, and a major announcement could be coming soon.

Floy Mayweather made a handshake deal back in 2019. After the death of his ex, Josie Harris, and uncle Roger Mayweather, fighting has been the last thing on Floyd Mayweather’s mind in the past few months.
Dana White informed fight fans around the world that he is still in contact with Floyd Mayweather and there’s still a possibility that Mayweather will fight this year. White revealed that both sides are interested and the deal between both the parties is far from dead.
Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor being targeted for early 2021?
It will be interesting to note if Floyd Mayweather will return to boxing. The undefeated great called out Conor McGregor soon after the former dual champion announced his retirement from the sport. Mayweather said that he will wait for Conor McGregor, and can’t wait to beat him again. When asked who will be his next opponent, here’s what Dana White had to say.
“Floyd and I still have dialogue and go back and forth. We’re still interested on both sides.” White continues, “No, no, no. I know he would rematch Conor McGregor but I don’t know if you heard about this but Conor McGregor’s retired,” White said.

When further questioned about Conor McGregor‘s status with the UFC. White reminded fight fans that McGregor has retired, and he is not looking at any match-up for the former dual champion.
“When I’m doing things right now and running a business, I don’t even think about Conor. Conor is retired. As of right here now today, Conor is retired until Conor tells me differently, I’m not trying to make any fights for Conor.”
