This fight between Nate Diaz and Leon Edwards will be the first non-title, non-main event fight to have 5 rounds. As a result, UFC 263 is going to be a massive event because of the superstars that are fighting on the main card. Moving on The UFC President, Dana White indicated that “Yeah this is a big fight for those guys and I mean whoever wins is next after Colby.” Therefore it is expected that the winner of this fight will get a Welterweight Title opportunity against the winner of Kamaru Usman vs Colby Covington.

Dana White opens up about how the Nate Diaz Vs Leon Edwards fight was made

Dana White revealed in a conversation with Denis Shkuratov about the details of the Nate Diaz vs Leon Edwards fight.

“It wasn’t us convincing him. He wanted that fight. I mean Leon has the worst luck ever. The past year and a half were brutal for that kid. Another fight that fell apart was Khamzat and Nate Diaz asked for that fight. Nate Diaz wanted that fight.”

The UFC president also added that “Nate always wants to fight tough guys. It’s just Nate is gonna fight when he wants to fight on his own schedule. So Nate popped up out of nowhere and said he wanted to fight and he picked Leon Edwards. That’s pretty badass.”

However, this fight is not as intense and personal as compared to other “BMF” fights. But Nate Diaz’s fans will be overjoyed by just seeing him make his comeback after two years in the UFC.

Earlier in February, The BMF had trolled Leon Edwards on Twitter for calling him out.

At that time it didn’t seem like this fight would take place. But here we are three days from now “The Stockton Slugger” will take on “Rocky” at UFC 263 in Glendale and this fight will play a huge role in determining the future Welterweight Title picture.
