Daniel Cormier has responded to a fan who was not happy about Joanna Jedrzejczyk being interviewed at UFC 275. The strawweight queen has announced her retirement following the brutal knockout loss to Zhang Weili at the recently concluded Pay Per View (PPV) event.
Weili and Joanna had their first match at UFC 248 in 2018. The contest has been subsequently dubbed the greatest women’s MMA fight of all time. As a result, the buzz was off the roof for the fight as fans were ready for another war between the two. Unlike the first bout, Weili focused much more on her wrestling instead of trying to strike with Joanna.

The Chinese fighter found a lot of success on the ground in round 1 and subsequently knocked Joanna out in the second round. She landed a massive spinning forearm which connected flush and put Jedrzejczyk’s lights out immediately. After the bout, she revealed that this was the last fight of her career.
It seemed like the commentary team knew that Joanna was going to say goodbye to the sport if she lost. Colour commentator Jon Anik said afterwards that Joanna indicated towards retirement during the fighter’s meeting ahead of the PPV.
Hence, Daniel Cormier walked up to Joanna to give her a chance of bidding farewell to the fans. The commentators are usually advised not to interview a fighter after they have been knocked out. However, Joanna seemed really grateful to have the opportunity and she had a heartfelt retirement speech.
But one fan seemed to take issue with it as they took to Twitter to express their displeasure. Daniel Cormier seemed to notice it as he gave a befitting reply to the person on Twitter, he wrote,
You don’t wanna see her retire? https://t.co/hwn51zUqRz
