Donald Trump is once again in the headline for yet another controversy. However, the matter is a very serious one and could put a serious dent in his re-election campaign. As such, let’s take a look at what has Trump found himself embroiled in this time.
According to various sources, former President Donald Trump has been indicted by a grand jury in Manhattan. The charges against the former POTUS are related to hush money payments made to an adult film star just before the 2016 presidential election. Moreover, these payments were likely made in order to cover up any evidence of an extramarital affair.
The adult film actress reported to be Stormy Daniels, was allegedly tempted to sell the story of her affair with Trump to major news outlets. If it did happen, the following outrage would have derailed Trump’s chances of making office in 2016. Thus, payments worth $130,000 were made to the actress. However, that is not all as Trump also signed off on payments to his lawyer, Michael Cohen.
As reports suggest, Cohen received a massive $420,000 for reimbursement and for putting a lid on Daniels. Previously, there have also been reports of Trump admitting to repaying Cohen for buying the actress’ silence. Whilst Trump himself denies having any extramarital affair, his executives have stated that the payments made to Cohen were simply ‘retainer fees’ for his legal services.
Donald Trump is supported by Dana White and many UFC fighters
A lot has been made of Donald and his affiliation with UFC President Dana White and so many UFC fighters. On occasion, the former president has been seen ringside and has been an avid supporter of the organization for a long time now. Previously, UFC head honcho Dana White praised the former President in a speech at the 2016 Republican National Convention. According to Dana, the UFC owes its success to people like Trump.
Additionally, there is a whole host of fighters who are outspoken in their support of Trump. Notably, Colby Covington, proudly claims himself to be Donald Trump’s favorite fighter. Moreover, he is often seen donning merchandise with the ‘Make America Great Again’ stamp. Recently, Covington also revealed that he was partying with Trump when he got the call to come and be the backup fighter for UFC 286’s main event.

Other notable UFC fighters that support Trump include Miesha Tate, Tito Ortiz, Chris Weidman, Jorge Masvidal, and Jake Shields. In light of his recent indictment, Jorge Masvidal and Shields have come out with support for Trump. According to Masvidal, the accusations against Trump are communist conspiracies whilst Jake Shields believes that the left will do anything to stop Trump.
Currently, the prosecution is expecting Trump to surrender. However, it is unknown whether Trump will face prison time. The first US President to face criminal charges, Trump will without a doubt suffer a big setback in his title charge. As such, it remains to be seen what the complete outcome will be.
