Khamzat Chimaev has also joined the Nick Diaz bandwagon, as the rising UFC prospect Khamzat Chimaev called out Nick Diaz. He went a step further and claimed that after beating his next opponent, Chimaev stated that he would beat Damien Maia, Nick Diaz, and Nate Diaz the same night or every week. Khamzat Chimaev is scheduled to take on Gerald Meerschaert and then Damien Maia next. For the first time in the history of UFC, a fighter has been booked for two fights even before the outcome of the first fight. Dana White revealed why UFC decided to book two fights for Khamzat Chimaev.

“I told these guys to get him to flights get him one here in Vegas and one on Fight Island, and he’s fighting both here. I don’t know why they ended up doing that. But whatever. It’s all good.”

White revealed that Khamzat Chimaev wanted to fight two opponents back to back, and hence the decision to book him with two fights was taken. However, White also revealed that he was looking at Chiamev fighting one fight here in Vegas, while the other on Fight Island. Interestingly enough, Khamzat Ciamev will be competing here in Las Vegas. Chimaev has picked up a lot of attention from fight fans around the world owing to his back to back dominant performances inside the octagon. It will be interesting to see if Chiamev can continue the same run when he takes on a top-ranked opponent next.
