UFC 285 is almost upon us. As such, fans can hardly wait or close their eyes for that one last sleep. With so many notable names returning, one of them will be the fan-favorite commentator, Joe Rogan.
Having missed UFC 283 and UFC 284, Joe will make his return to the commentary desk at UFC 285. Likely returning alongside Daniel Cormier and Jon Anik, it will be a sight many fans have missed in the events gone by. As such, just like UFC events in the past, Rogan was involved in the UFC 285 Ceremonial Weigh-Ins.
Notably, the conclusion of the weigh-ins was followed by a surprise appearance from none other than Conor McGregor. Taking the mic from Rogan, McGregor announced the shooting of a segment for his upcoming film, “Road House”. The segment involved Jake Gyllenhaal and Jay Hieron as they faced off ahead of their fictional UFC bout in the film.
However, this time around, it was Jon Anik introducing the ‘fighters’ instead of Rogan. As such, everyone present on the scene prior to the shooting, except the podcaster, was still there. This also included UFC President Dana White and Hunter Campbell. Moreover, Conor, whose role in the film is still unknown was also not a part of the scene.
Does Joe Rogan have beef with Conor McGregor?
Although many were initially very confused about what was going on, things became much clearer once the props were pulled out. Emulating a weigh-in like the one that just occurred, the movie focused on what is likely the protagonist in Jake Gyllenhaal, ahead of a middleweight championship bout.
Notably, fans pointed out that Rogan was rather quick to exit the scene after a brief embrace with McGregor. A fan commented, “Rogan was like hell naw”. Considering their differences in the recent past, the two seemed to have buried their hatchets. However, it did not stop the fans from theorizing about why Joe was not a part of the scene.
For the most part, there have been no indications that there is still bad blood between them. During the moment when they exchanged the mic, the two seemed pretty friendly and amicable. As such, some fans wrote that with Joe being such a big name, they would likely have had to shell out some big bucks for him to make a cameo.

Previously, Joe and Conor butted heads over the latter’s alleged PED use. Whilst Joe surmised that Conor was likely using PEDs for his recovery and massive frame, Conor chose to hit back with a few digs of his own, which he then deleted. Moreover, the two also clashed over Conor’s ‘illegal’ knee on Khabib Nurmagomedov during their UFC 229 fight.
At the time, McGregor tweeted out a voice note calling Rogan a “phony.” Ahead of McGregor’s return to the UFC, Rogan then applauded the Irishman’s ability to put on a show. At the moment, it seems as though the pair are back to being on good terms, at least for the foreseeable future.
