Johnny Walker has always been a fighter that has divided fan opinion. Although he has been brilliant at times, he has also been very inconsistent with his performances. However, he now finds himself embroiled in a whole other controversy.
Recently, there has been a lot of talk regarding Walker, especially after UFC 294. Having taken what looked like an illegal knee from Magomed Ankalaev, Walker was ruled ineligible to fight by the on-scene doctor. It was a bizarre call-off, to say the least, and many were left baffled by the decision. As such, it was announced that a rematch would be set for a later date.
Unfortunately, the news of the rematch was not the only reason Walker has made headlines. According to sources, a woman leaked screenshots of her chat with the UFC Light Heavyweight fighter. Whilst it is very clear to see the illicit nature of the conversation, the kicker here is that the girl claims to be 15-16 years old. With that said, the person in question has since threatened to reveal his extramarital activities to his wife.
Naturally, it has become a big talking point in the MMA community, with many fans sharing their opinions. For the most part, the discussions have stayed on Reddit and X. Moreover, the bigger MMA channels on YouTube have yet to make a video on the subject, owing to a lack of information on the matter.
Johnny Walker responds to the accusations against him
For the most part, the screenshots have been circulating for a few days now. Whilst the chats themselves paint a clear picture, there are supposedly images as well, further confirming that it is indeed Johnny Walker. At the same time, there are certain discrepancies due to which the evidence has not yet been verified.
For one, there is the question of whether it was really Walker who sent the unsolicited images to the minor. Whilst one can spot the UFC Venum fight shorts in one of the pictures, some have also pointed out a distinct scar near the stomach area. At the same time, the screenshots show a very different Instagram profile from that of Walker. With many making the argument that it was likely an old screenshot, some believe the images to be doctored.
In some screenshots, the 31-year-old can be seen asking the person not to contact or bother his wife, Tara Campbell. Recently, the Brazilian finally addressed the person during a TikTok livestream. Responding to the accusations, Walker simply said, “Get a life, get a job. Try to be happy, try to have your own life, and be happy. Do the best for yourself, and I hope you have a better life. Stop spending your time in things that’s not going to give nothing back to you”.
For the most part, Johnny Walker was very calm during the interaction, leading many to believe that he was not guilty. Further, Johnny also stated that his wife already knew about the situation. Since then, many have sided with the fighter, blaming the girl for trying to get attention. With that said, things very much hang in the balance, and many are eagerly awaiting further evidence and a statement from Walker.
