Master troll Colby ‘Chaos‘ Covington has been bringing a lot of heat in the aftermath of UFC 286. The no. 2 ranked UFC welterweight shocked fans and fighters alike when he stepped on the weighing scales last week. Colby served as the backup fighter for the main event. Recently, Colby has made some headlines, and this time he has lashed out at his long-time rival Kamaru Usman’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz.
During the post-fight presser, UFC president Dana White announced Colby as the next guy in line for the welterweight gold. This has left many fans and fighters with a bitter taste in their mouths. Covington has expressed interest in fighting for the title “on American soil” during International Fight Week in July.
Since then, the 35-year-old has been on roll in the media. Covington has gone out of his way to do as many interviews as possible while doing what he does best, generating controversial statements. In an interview with James Lynch, Colby shone some light on Ali Abdelaziz, the CEO of Dominance MMA. He shared,
“You know, James? You know what I was going to ask [you] about that? Why wasn’t that guy [Ali Abdelaziz] in attendance in London [for UFC 286], James? Could you tell me why?”

James suggested it is because Ali, who manages the likes of Kamaru Usman and Islam Makhachev, isn’t allowed to leave America because of legal reasons. Colby disingenuously responded by saying, “Really? Why is he not allowed to leave the US?”
James went further and explained, “I think he might have a checkered past, google is your friend. There are a few things online about some of the activities he’s been involved with. But you’re right. That’s why he wasn’t in Abu Dhabi, [and] that’s why he wasn’t in London as well.”
“Wow, that’s interesting, James. Ali ‘Abdelasleaze’ is not allowed out of the country. Aye, wow, man! Fans, do your research [on] what type of person that guy is.” added Colby while doing his signature grin.
The feud between Conor McGregor and Ali Abdelaziz
Despite Colby’s recent comments on Ali Abdelaziz, fans might remember it was Conor McGregor who initially brought the latter’s past to light. It all began during the build-up to the most highly watched MMA fight at the time, UFC 229. Just before Khabib’s first face-off with the Irish megastar, Conor referred to the Russian’s manager as a “terrorist snitch.”
However, it didn’t stop right there. Conor went on to mention Ali in another presser. Not to mention, the two have had a back-and-forth on Twitter for almost 5 years now. Conor has bashed the manager not only for his alleged shady past but also for being a potential hurdle in making a rematch with Khabib come to fruition.
During the final presser before UFC 229, Conor went after Ali and shared, “He [Ali] is a f**king snitch terrorist rat and that’s it. I could go into heavy detail and I will. He was pulled off of a flight from Cairo, Egypt to New York City on September 11, 2001. Ali was caught with 5 passports in his possession. He turned informant and turned on the people that he was working with. I don’t even know how that man is in this f**king country.”
Not many fighters from the UFC stable have made such bold accusations about someone in the past. Do you believe there is any merit behind Conor McGregor’s claims about Ali Abdelaziz and his alleged wrongdoings? Let us know in the comments down below.
