Nearly 3 years on, Henry Cejudo makes his return to the UFC Octagon. In his bid to win his third title in a different weight class, Cejudo must reclaim his bantamweight title. Thus, in preparation for his latest fight, there have been a lot of adjustments to make.
Previously, ‘Triple C’ walked away from the sport after beating Dominick Cruz at UFC 249. At the time, Cejudo revealed that he wanted to give more to his girlfriend and possibly start a family. As it turns out, Cejudo has done exactly that but will now be missing that life for a few months as he prepares for his return fight.
Speaking about it in one of his recent YouTube videos, Cejudo spoke with his wife on the matter. Here, Cejudo adds that he has hired somebody to look after his daughter, America, full-time. “I have somebody living with me full time. He’s been spending a lot of time with America and it’s almost like she’s getting super connected with ‘No Chance’, that’s his name, Jose Maria, and she’s been getting super connected with him”.
Thus, Henry feels that he is unable to find time for the things he wants to teach his daughter. “He’s teaching her things that I should be, you know what I mean? Playing that role”. As such, Henry hopes to make quick work of Aljamain Sterling at UFC 288 and get back to spending time with his daughter. Interestingly, Henry will want more time on his hands, seeing that he will also welcome his second child soon.
What do we know about Henry Cejudo’s daughter?
Previously, Henry Cejudo broke the news of the birth of his first daughter. Having married his fiance Ana Karolina in 2021, Cejudo welcomed his daughter the same year. On November 19, 2021, Henry and his wife Ana Karolina welcomed America Maria Cejudo. For the most part, Cejudo was ecstatic and immediately took to Instagram to share how he felt.
Sharing a picture of his wife holding their baby, he wrote, “At 4:26am, God brought our beautiful America to this world. It’s a very surreal feeling and responsibly that we have as parents”. Understandably, the birth of his first daughter was a major event in Henry’s life and he was very excited. For the most part, with the birth of his daughter, Cejudo promised to be a better parent than his parents at the time of his own upbringing.

Interestingly, there was a lot of buzz regarding the name of his daughter. Whilst everyone was familiar with Cejudo being the self-proclaimed “King of Cringe,” they were left puzzled by the name that he chose for his daughter. However, what many do not realize is that Henry had her name planned out well in advance.
In an Instagram post, Henry stated, “I love you so much America that I’m naming my daughter after you. As an immigrant son, I know the value of living the American dream”.
Thus, on the 4th of July, 2021, Henry made the decision to name his daughter America, as a way of giving back and honoring the opportunities that the country gave him, especially with his parents being an immigrant.
