Jon Jones will finally make his long-awaited comeback at UFC 285.
He takes on #1 ranked heavyweight Ciryl Gane for the heavyweight title vacated by Francis Ngannou. “Bones,” who is returning to the octagon after a 3-year layoff, is training for his super-fight with Gane with someone who knows all about winning huge fights. Heading up Jones’ training is former UFC double champion and Olympic gold medalist, Henry Cejudo.
Cejudo recently uploaded the second episode of a new series called “Return of the GOAT” on his YouTube channel. In it, Jon Jones can be seen rapping with MC Dome and meeting Cejudo’s children. During a training session, Cejudo vocally admires Jon’s ability and composure.
As Jones is in the cage, training, Cejudo is on the outside admiring the heavyweight.
Henry said, “You can’t see it, dude. Even as a heavyweight, you can’t see some of the s*** he does.” Cejudo also addressed Jones in the video while he was training. “I’ve seen a lot of your fights. One of your greatest gifts is your composure.” After Jones resumed training, Triple C told his other coaches, “That’s Jon’s gift, dude. His body has the ability of doing s*** that, uh… You know what I mean, he just snaps it on you.”
Jon Jones has made a good decision in deciding to train with Triple C. After all, he has already done what Jones is setting out to do. Cejudo beat Marlon Moraes at UFC 238 to win the UFC bantamweight championship. And he will surely have invaluable advice for the former light heavyweight champion, who is aiming to become a two-division champion.
Henry Cejudo is keeping Jon Jones’ training a secret
Jon Jones is attempting to become one of the few champions in UFC history to hold titles in two different weight classes. He cleared out his previous division, light heavyweight, multiple times, taking on 3 different generations of challengers. The fact that he first became champion 12 years ago in 2011 is just a testament to Bones’ longevity.
However, for his latest endeavor, he has brought in some expert help in the form of Henry Cejudo. Triple C is a former double champion with wins over generational talents like Demetrious Johnson, TJ Dillashaw, and Dominick Cruz.
And in all his wisdom, Triple C decided to keep Jones’ training hidden from the public eye. A lot of training camps do this in order to keep their strategies for fight night under wraps. However, Cejudo praising Jones during his training and marveling at his every move will surely play with Gane’s psyche.
