If there’s ever a fight that Conor McGregor will not have to worry about wrestling, it’s a showdown against Justin Gaethje. Looking at the brewing rivalry between the two, it looks like we could see it in the near future. Once again, Justin Gaethje sent out some scathing remarks about Conor McGregor in light of the Notorious expressing his interest in a potential title fight against Charles Oliveira. Things get even more interesting as Charles Oliveira has shown his interest too, and could jump over Justin Gaethje to face McGregor next.
Speaking to BT Sports, Justin Gaethje opined, “He’s irrelevant right now. He’s got a broken leg.” Gaethje further went on to question the integrity of the sport and rightfully so. Justin Gaethje stands as the top-ranked contender and fresh off a former title challenger Michael Chandler. UFC President Dana White has stated that Justin Goethe is next for the title belt, however, Charles Oliveira showing interest in a potential fight with Conor McGregor could create a huge difference.

Even UFC President Dana White has not shunned the idea of a potential Oliveira vs McGregor match-up, calling Conor McGregor a special fighter. He also added that rules are slightly different when it comes to the Notorious Conor McGregor.
Justin Gaethje to riot if Conor McGregor gets the Charles Oliveira fight
In the past, Justin Gaethje has stated that he would riot should UFC book the Charles Oliveira vs Conor McGregor fight. Gaethje has been in title contention for quite some time now and expressed his disappointment after UFC booked Oliveira vs Chandler for the vacant UFC title. Needless to say, a win over top-ranked Michael Chandler in a “Fight of the Year” contender puts him at the top of the list.
It will be interesting to see the future of the UFC’s lightweight division considering there are a lot of exciting match-ups that can take place in the year 2022. Beneil Dariush vs Islam Makhachev is also seen as a #1 contender’s match for the UFC gold, and things could get really interesting if McGregor gets the title shot next.
