Jorge Masvidal will take on his former teammate turned bitter rival Colby Covington in a highly anticipated fight in the main event of UFC 272. There is a lot of bad blood between the two and subsequently, fans cannot wait for these two welterweights to clash inside the octagon.
As we build-up to this fight, Gamebred engaged in a fan Q&A on Rumble. During this session, one fan asked Masvidal whether he would like to face Nate Diaz in a rematch. The BMF responded by claiming that The Stockton Slugger would not like to face him after his brutal TKO loss in their first meeting at UFC 244 in 2019.

“That m*********** doesn’t want it, man. I almost damn near killed him, I beat him an inch within his fucking skinny life. You saw his last fight with Leon. I was like, man, they make that mistake and put this guy in there with me again, you know? He’s not trying to fight. That little f****** broomstick keeps talking, You’re going to have to go at some point, you know.”
Jorge Masvidal open to fighting Nate Diaz in a rematch
After trashing Nate Diaz, Jorge Masvidal revealed that after he handles business against Colby Covington, he would prioritise a trilogy fight against Kamaru Usman for the welterweight title. However, with Kamaru injured, Gamebred is also open to fighting Diaz if he has to wait too long for a title shot.
“I take Colby [Covington]’s ass out, if I gotta wait for Usman, it could be you that gets this a** whooping, bro. Let’s f****** go, man, I’m gonna break your f****** face, bro. It’s not a call out. After handling business, I’m going for the title, and if I don’t have time to go for the title, I’m gonna break your f****** face for all the s*** talking you’ve done.”
Regardless of Nate’s loss at UFC 244, the first fight between Masvidal and Diaz was a bloodbath. Therefore it is needless to say that fans would love to see these two welterweights clash again. However, it is highly unlikely that we would see this fight as Nate has only fight left on the contract and he has expressed his wish to face Dustin Poirier.
