Francis Ngannou defeated Ciryl Gane at UFC 270 via unanimous decision. It was the victory via decision in his entire career. Francis went all 5 rounds and proved his critics wrong who doubted his cardio was not good enough to go the distance.
Despite such a monumental victory, the occasion seemed muddled as UFC president Dana White was not present in the cage to wrap the belt around the wais of the UFC heavyweight champion. Dana also skipped the post-fight press conference. It raised further questions on an already relationship between Ngannou and the promotion.

In the press conference, Francis was asked about his future with the UFC. he explained, “It’s been a long time since I have been wondering about my future in the company. So nothing has changed, I’m still in the same position.”
“It’s not simply about money. Obviously, money is a part of it, but it is also the terms of the contract, I don’t agree with it. I don’t feel like it’s fair, I don’t feel like I’m free. I don’t feel like I have been treated good and it is unfortunate that I have to be in this position to be able to do that.”
“But I think it is something that everybody should be able to have a right to claim what’s best for him. Because at the end of the day we put a lot of work in this job. (We) take a lot in our body to make it happen. So at least we can have a fair and square deal.”
Is Francis Ngannou on the verge of leaving UFC?
Following his remarks at the press conference after UFC 270, it seems as if Francis Ngannou is still undecided about his future. Although he expressed the wish to remain at the company prior to the event, Dana White’s recent snub might nudge him towards the exit door.
If the exit does indeed happen, boxing will be the most logical option for the reigning UFC champ. Earlier in the week, he fired a shot towards Deontay Wilder. Ngannou also expressed interest in fighting other big names such as Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.
