The heavyweight championship fight is around the corner. Meanwhile, the whole MMA community is sharing their opinion on both Ciryl Gane and Francis Ngannou’s skill set and who is better.
Recently, Ciryl Gane shared his opinion on what he feels can happen at UFC 270. Gane gave an interview to the UFC where he mentioned that Francis has improved a lot since his loss against Stipe Miocic and splitting up from Coach Lopez.
“The second fight against Stipe was really great; Francis did really well and he improved a lot, not only with his skills but with his Fight IQ and with his tactics”.
However, the interim champion feels that it will be him who will come victorious at UFC 270. The reason is his footwork, he feels.
“In this division, I have the best footwork and I’m more well-rounded… I have more skills than [Francis].” @Ciryl_Gane knows he has the skills to be the Undisputed HW Champ, and is ready to show the world at #UFC270.

“I think my advantage against Francis will be the footwork,” Said Gane. He further added: “In this division, I have the best footwork and I’m more well-rounded, also. I have more skills than him. “For this fight, I don’t know what’s going to happen exactly, but at the end of the fight, you’re going to see my hand raised.”
Is Ciryl Gane ‘s technique better than Francis Ngannou’s?
Now, everyone including Gane thinks he has the better footwork. However, one should not forget that Ngannou is not far behind when it comes to movement inside the octagon. In his last fight against Stipe, Gane was seen switching stances and kicking out of both sides. He even landed a nice head kick and of course, he defended takedown attempts pretty well.
When once in their first fight Miocic took down Gane six times, in the second Ngannou made sure to defend it all. Instead, he took down Miocic once in their second fight.
After Gane’s last fight, UFC president Dana said that he is a heavyweight who moves like a middleweight. This is true to some extent because the level of footwork Gane showed in that fight was insane.
But, it is also factual that Francis’s technique is somewhat underrated. Nevertheless, all these questions will be answered once they face each other inside the octagon at UFC 270.
