UFC 270 is finally here! Aside from the UFC heavyweight championship clash between Francis Ngannou and Ciryl Gane, the co-main event between Brandon Moreno and Deiveson Figueiredo is the fight fans have been looking forward to the most. The trilogy fight comes on the heels of Moreno beating the Brazilian at UFC 263 to capture the flyweight title.
The first fight between them came in 2020 at UFC 256. It was Deiveson Figueiredo’s second title defence after dominating Alex Perez. The bout between then-champion Figueiredo and challenger Moreno was an epic one that went all 5 rounds. It was a majority draw. However, Moreno made key adjustments ahead of the second fight and implemented his grappling in the second fight.

But as they say, the third time is the charm! Deiveson Figueiredo finally got it done this time around. He retrieves his UFC title by beating Moreno in the co-main of UFC 270. The fight was a close one as each dropped the other, but it was the Brazilian who got the nod of the judges. All three judges saw it as 48-47.
Deiveson Figueiredo Thanks Henry Cejudo
Ahead of this third fight, Deiveson Figueiredo went into the fight camp with a special coach. ‘Triple C’ Henry Cejudo joined the camp and helped him with his grappling ahead of the championship fight. The impact showed in the fight as Figueiredo out-grappled Moreno in the fight.
During the post-fight interview with Joe Rogan, the newly crowned champ thanked Henry Cejudo. He said, “I love you Henry Cejodu.” He further went on to say that he is ready for another fight with Brandon Moreno. But the fourth fight will have to take place in Mexico, the home country of Moreno.
After the third fight, both fighters have won one each. So a fourth immediate fight between them will not be something that can be ruled out. Especially if it takes place in Mexico, the event will a spectacular one.
