Nick Diaz

Before his suspension from MMA, Nick Diaz was certainly one of the biggest stars in UFC. Despite the presence of some huge stars such as Brock Lesnar, Conor McGregor, Ronda Rousey, and Jon Jones, Nick Diaz always has a special place among the fans.

However, things have changed after 6 years as Nick prepares to make his UFC return against Robbie Lawler. He is not the more popular Diaz brother anymore as his younger brother Nate Diaz is a massive star in the world of combat sports right now.

Nate Diaz put the MMA world on notice after beating Conor McGregor at UFC 196. Then he would go on to have an iconic 5 round rematch with McGregor, which would even increase his fan following.

Since then fans have been eagerly waiting for every Nate Diaz’s octagon appearances.

During the UFC 266 press conference, Nick Diaz was asked about his feelings to see Nate surpassed him in the world of combat sports. And the response from Nick Diaz has certainly impressed the fans as he said:

“Proud. I tried to pave the way, set it up that way. I did not expect to drag so hard. But, I’ve done all my homework I have got fights left. I am in pretty good shape.”

“Yeah, Sure he has(become a bigger star). I am working on the label and everything. I got a fight, regardless win or lose I got to fight and I got to help the kids and get everybody training.”

Will Nate Diaz be in the corner of Nick Diaz at UFC 266?

We have not seen Nate Diaz in the recent Embedded episodes, which might be sad news for the Diaz fans. Though fans were expecting to see Nate assist his older brother in his fight against Robbie Lawler it seems Nick had other plans.

In a recent UFC 266 Embedded episode, Nick Diaz confirmed that Nick Maximov, Martin Sano Jr., and Cesar Gracie will be in his corner for his UFC return.

But, it’s certainly possible that Nate Diaz will be in the arena to support his idol in one of his biggest fights.
