The rivalry between Jon Jones and Israel Adesanya is getting heated with each passing day. Ever since Adesanya’s effortless win over Paulo Costa, fans have been campaigning for a super fight between the middleweight champion and Jon Jones.
And looking at the verbal jabs these two fighters have been throwing on social media UFC will be certainly aiming to make this fight happen.
Israel Adesanya blasted Jon Jones with all of his controversies from the past in his recent tweets. He also brought up the story of Jon Jones hiding under the cage in his gym to escape the drug test of NSAC. Adesanya stated:
“Well you sleep under the cage so… Get in your tighty nighty and go to underneath the cage like the ugly putrid troll you are. Fun Facts! I napped under the cage in 2010 cuz I didn’t wanna waste gas going home so I stayed at the gym till evening training. Jonathon stayed under the cage to hide from USADA during a random drug test. This is facts. Y’ll must have forgot.”
Replying to Adesanya’s allegations, Jon Jones finally put the years-long speculations to rest and admitted that he did indeed hid under the cage to escape the random drug test. Jones stated that:
“Brother explain your titty. I was hiding from NevadaStatee Athletic Commission, not USADA and that wayearsrs ago.. I had just smoked a blunt and was afraid I would fail my test for weed. That’s the actual truth, Now everyone knows everyone.”
Why Israel Adesanya is not accepting Jon the Jones fight
Jon Jones is arguably the greatest mixed martial artist of all time. But, his career is full of controversies including multiple failed drug tests. UFC has stripped the light heavyweight title off Jones on multiple occasions due to these controversies. And Adesanya is not bringing every single thing from Jones’s dark past to use it against him.
But, some might think that Jones is winning this verbal battle. Because he is the one calling out Adesanya for a fight right now and Adesanya is not accepting the fight. With all the trash talk that has happened so far, one would expect that both the fighters are eager to face each other in the octagon.
However, Israel Adesanya has made his intentions clear. He wants to fight Jones in 2021 after he cleans out the middleweight division. Until then fans will have to watch two of the best fighters in UFC insult each other with every opportunity they get.
