UFC 268 was undoubtedly a stellar pay per view filled with many astounding fights. Consequently, there were several fights that were also worthy of the Fight of the Year candidate. One such fight was the main event title rematch between Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington.

Both fighters displayed some remarkable striking as they traded several big shots throughout the fight. The Nigerian Nightmare showcased his class as he dropped Covington twice in the second round. However, Chaos was not too far behind as wobbled Usman in the fourth and fifth rounds of the fight.

There were numerous moments in this title rematch that had the crowd present in the Madison Square Garden go berserk. Overall, this fight was an instant classic with Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington delivering a performance for the ages.

In the end, the judges scored this contest 47-48, 47-48 and 46-49 in the favour of Kamaru Usman. After battling it out for five rounds in the main event, the Nigerian fighter deservedly defended his welterweight crown via unanimous decision.

Jorge Masvidal motivates Colby Covington to come back after his loss against Kamaru Usman

After the fight got over Jorge Masvidal who is a former teammate of Colby Covington shared a heartfelt thought on Twitter. In his Twitter post, Gamebred has motivated his welterweight counterpart to bounce back quickly after suffering a tough loss in the title fight rematch.

“Been choked out, knocked out, split decisioned, robbed on the cards. Where I’m from that only makes you more of a dog. The world don’t care about your L’s. Wake up and get to work cause nobody gonna do it for you” #supernecessary

It is quite surprising how the BMF has sympathised with Covington’s loss against Usman in the main event of UFC 268 today. Owing to the fact that the two fighters have a bittersweet relationship. However, it will be interesting to see how Colby reacts to these words as Chaos shares no love with Masvidal.

Regardless of today’s loss, Colby has no reason to be ashamed of and can proudly hold his head high as he showed great heart to come back and give a tough fight to Kamaru Usman in this rematch.
