Former UFC two-division champion Conor McGregor has hit back at the fans who accused him of using steroids following his leg break injury. The Irishman last fought Dustin Poirier in their trilogy bout at UFC 264. However, McGregor broke his left fibula and tibia in that fight, and ever since he’s been in recovery.
‘The Notorious’ has been bulking up to make his debut in a higher weight class; however, he has been often accused of using steroids, since his injury. Recently, in a tweet, McGregor confessed that everything was cleared to the UFC before he began his rehabilitation. McGregor wrote:
“Everything was fully disclosed before I began. The state of allowance for athletes to recover from injuries as horrific as the one I overcame must be assessed. My thoughts are with Weidman and Anderson Silva. The 3 of us, and only us, know the severity of this injury.”

The Irishman referred to Anderson Silva and Chris Weidman who suffered a similar injury. While Silva returned to action after 13 months, Weidman hasn’t competed since his fatal injury against Uriah Hall at UFC 261.
McGregor hopes to return to the octagon next year. But he has been out of the USADA testing pool and hence has to wait 6 months before he can compete again. However, looking at his recovery process and bulked-up physique, many fans, and fighters have wondered if he is on steroids.
Fans accuse Conor McGregor of using steroids
In his long UFC career, Conor McGregor has never tested positive once. Moreover, he has always protested against fellow fighters who use steroids. However, fight fans are convinced that ‘The Notorious’ has taken some sort of performance-enhancing drug.
Some fans implied McGregor found a loophole in the USADA testing pool and took steroids to aid recovery:

If it is true that McGregor used steroids during his recovery process, then it will be very shocking. ‘The Notorious’ expects to make his comeback in 2023. He previously hinted at making his debut in the welterweight division.
