As we have seen countless times before, Twitter is where all the drama goes down. Moreover, with the ability to call out and directly address a person, many popular celebrities take to the platform quite often. As such, we now have a new drama involving Chael Sonnen and Bert Kriescher, a close friend of Joe Rogan.
Recently, Twitter CEO Elon Musk introduced new policies to make the social media platform more profitable. With the introduction of the new verified checkmark system, it has created a new avenue for profit. Thus, users would be required to pay a certain amount each month to keep their ‘blue tick’. However, despite the introduction of this new policy, some users have still been able to keep their checkmarks for free.
How about all these quasi-celebrities who feel the need to TWEET that they have a blue checkmark, but did not pay for it. Their goal to act confused, while actually bragging and hinting Elon personally did something for them is very transparent and equally as annoying as they… https://t.co/GnBvSoxamu

Hence, many, including Bert Kriescher, have taken to Twitter to state the same. Unfortunately, UFC legend Chael Sonnen is not too keen on this behavior. He tweeted, “How about all these quasi-celebrities who feel the need to TWEET that they have a blue checkmark, but did not pay for it. Their goal to act confused, while actually bragging and hinting Elon personally did something for them is very transparent and equally as annoying as they are”.
For the most part, it is seen as a ‘flex’ to have the verification tick despite not paying for it. Similarly, “The Machine” likely felt the need to flaunt his free verification tick as well. Just like Chael, a lot of others have criticized such behavior from people referring to it as ‘cringe’ and a ‘misplaced sense of entitlement’.
Bert Kriescher’s friendship with Joe Rogan
Although they are both comics, Bert’s friendship with Rogan came about in a rather unexpected way. For the most part, Bert was rather hesitant about being friends with another man. According to Bert, a man only wants to be friends with another man if he is either “using him or wants to f*** him.” As such, his initial impression of Joe was that he might be gay.
Speaking about his friendship with Joe, Bert told a rather hilarious story in an episode of Logan Paul’s IMPAULSIVE. “When Joe wanted to be friends with me, I was like, ‘You must be gay’. Like, why would you wanna be friends with another man? That didn’t make sense to me”. He further added, “Why would you wanna hang out with him? And then Joe never tried to kiss me once”.
Notably, Joe reached out to Bert and along with Ari Schaffir, helped him through a difficult time. Thus, as Bert states, Joe has been one of his closest friends ever since. According to Bert, he has been friends with both Ari and Joe for about 15 years now. As such, Bert has also appeared on The Joe Rogan Experience on numerous occasions.
Thus, it will be interesting to see which side Rogan takes in this argument. Being one of the most prominent UFC color commentators, Rogan is well acquainted with Chael Sonnen as well. Currently, neither Joe nor Bert has made any response to Sonnen’s comments either. Who do you think is in the wrong here? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
