Comedian and UFC color commentator Joe Rogan has landed himself under scrutiny several times throughout his career. Be it a sketch performed in his stand-up or a figure he’d invited on his famous podcast, Rogan is not new to receiving heat from the public. However, the Texas resident never shies away from speaking his mind, no matter how sensitive the subject being spoken about is.
Recently on an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, the 55-year-old sat down with UFC welterweight Jorge Masvidal. Even though most of their conversation revolved around MMA, the two sure did touch on subjects like the bank crisis, Donald Trump, etc. The comedian sparked a huge debate among fans when he shared his views on Donald Trump’s potential indictment.
‘Gamebred’ said, “Now what they’re trying to do to our boy Trump is f**king nuts, bro.”
Rogan responded, “They are talking about arresting him for paying a girl to stop talking about them having sex. I thought that was a good deal. I thought it’s a good idea, you pay someone. Didn’t [Bill] Clinton do that? John Edwards got in trouble for doing that, but he didn’t go to jail. They just don’t want him [Trump] president again.”
Masvidal added to the conversation, “If we unite as people like, hey man, Trump was doing the right thing. We might not like him on Twitter. He might be a mean coach. But, f**k he wins titles, constantly. If we could do that, America would be right back to being great again.”
Joe Rogan declined to have Donald Trump on his podcast
Over the years, Rogan has come under fire for several assertions he’s made on his podcast. The show which is platformed on Spotify has a reported 11 million listeners per episode. Over time, the list and diversification of his guests have only become bigger. However, there is one person the comedian would never have on his show, and that is Donald Trump.
In July 2022, Joe went on to one of his buddy Lex Fridman’s podcast. The two touched on multiple topics during the almost 2-hour episode, including AI, Bitcoin, Elon Musk, and more. During one segment, the 55-year-old claimed that he had turned down Mr. Trump on multiple occasions from making an appearance as a guest on JRE.
The comedian shared, “I’m not a Trump supporter in any way, shape, or form. I’ve had the opportunity to have him on my show, more than once. I’ve said no every time. I don’t wanna help him, I’m not interested in helping him.” He continued and described the former US president as an “existential threat to democracy itself.”

Joe was very public in his support of Bernie Sanders during the 2020 elections. However, this didn’t stop Mr. Trump from showing genuine support for the UFC commentator during the peak of the cancel culture era. In February 2022, Donald said, “[Joe] Rogan is an interesting and popular guy, but he’s got to stop apologizing to the Fake News and Radical Left maniacs and lunatics.”
