Joe Rogan’s Comments About His “Abusive” Father: Did Joe Rogan Lie About His Family?

Joe Rogan is renowned for being a stand-up comedian, podcaster, and UFC commentator. Over the years, Joe has become a global influence, tapping into audiences worldwide. Naturally, just like with all famous personalities, Joe’s life has its own fair share of controversies. 

Notably, Joe’s tumultuous relationship with his biological father is something that has been well-documented over the years. Speaking about it in various episodes, Rogan never had anything positive to say about his father and namesake, Joseph Rogan Senior. 

A former New Jersey police officer, Joseph Sr. was allegedly a menace during the early years of his son’s childhood. According to Joe, his father was a “psychotic person” who would allegedly beat women and kids. As per the “Fear Factor” host, his mother divorced and moved away from the “crazy Italian New Jersey psychopaths” when he was 5 years old. 

Speaking about it in JRE #118 with Ari Shaffir and Brian Redban, Joe gave this brief glimpse into his childhood. Further, Joe also mentioned in JRE Episode #1126 what it was like, to know his father for such a brief period of time. All in all, Joe was never a big fan of his father or his American-Italian extended family. 

Why did Joe Rogan’s father and sister call him out?

Recently, a clip surfaced of Joe’s estranged father and half-sister, Bridget Rogan Carselda calling the podcaster out. According to Joe’s father, a lot of misinformation has been spread about him by his son. Initially a Tik Tok clip, it soon found its way to social media and has since spread like a wildfire. 

In the clip, we see the father-daughter pair and an unknown individual as well. For the most part, Joe Sr. wants a face-to-face with his son, no cameras, no media, no nothing. Moreover, the father believes that Joe has lied about his father beating up women and children, claiming that in their neighborhood, anything like that would be easily audible to their neighbors.

Moreover, Joe’s half-sister is also seen chiming in during the video. According to her, Joe was very unlucky having not known his father properly. According to her, Joseph Rogan Sr. was a blessing for her children to have grown up around. Further, in a rather dramatic fashion, she threatened to unleash the secrets of a “pandora’s box” which supposedly contains incriminating evidence about Joe. 

Notably, Joe’s father believes that his son has been misled to believe these things about him by his mother. However, there is no telling which side is actually speaking the truth. With Joe being caught up with his commentary work in UFC, it is likely that we will see a development in the situation in the near future.
