Kamaru Usman Has Broken up With His Brazilian Girlfriend Eleslie Dietzsch, Mother of His Daughter Samirah

Kamaru Usman faces a tall task when he takes on Leon Edwards at UFC 286. Throughout his career, Usman has faced many hardships and obstacles and has taken them head-on. One such difficulty has been his breakup and dating life thereafter. 

Previously in 2016, Kamaru publicly revealed that he was dating Eleslie Dietzsch. Ahead of his fight against Warlley Alves, Usman stated, “I’m loving Brazil, my girlfriend is Brazilian, my daughter is half-Brazilian”. As such, it is rumored that Usman and Dietzsch began dating sometime before 2014, before the birth of their daughter. 

However, on a podcast with Andrew Schulz last year, Usman revealed that he had in fact broken up with his longtime girlfriend in early 2022. Commenting on his relationship, Usman said, “Yeah, I was in a relationship until earlier this year so…yeah I’m single.” Thus, amid defending his UFC title and being a Hollywood star, Usman seemingly had to pull the plug on his relationship. 

Kamaru Usman and Eleslie Dietzsch have a daughter together

As mentioned previously, Kamaru and Eleslie also have a daughter together. Born in 2014, Samirah Usman has been seen with her father on numerous occasions. The father-daughter duo share a close bond and often travel together for Usman’s fights. Notably, she was also present when Kamaru suffered a brutal knockout loss to Leon Edwards at UFC 278. 

Ahead of his trilogy fight against Leon Edwards at UFC 286, Usman revealed how he regrets not being there to see his daughter grow up. In the UFC 286 Countdown video, there is a wholesome sequence where Usman gets a call from his daughter about a father-and-daughter dance class. Without a moment’s hesitation, Usman is seen flying out to his daughter and fulfilling his fatherly duties.

As such he remains a dedicated father and will look to be a present figure during his daughter’s upbringing. With talks of Usman potentially retiring after fighting Edwards, he could potentially look to make up for all the time he feels he has lost with his daughter.

Is Usman dating anyone after splitting with Eleslie Dietzsch?

Currently, Kamaru is not known to be dating anyone. In the same podcast where he revealed he was single, Kamaru also stated what he wanted in his dating life. “Don’t get me wrong, we all like girls… but I’m like – I like love.” As such, Usman is not impressed by potential suitors in South Florida, stating that he prefers a partner that ‘really has something about them’. 

Moreover, Usman emphasized that his priorities right now are his career and his daughter. Thus leaving the Nigerian fighter and actor with less time for love and romance. However, for those wondering, Usman did drop a few names, a list of his ‘celebrity crushes’ in Hollywood. As such, Usman, who is ‘old at heart’ includes Julia Roberts, Scarlett Johansson, Lupita Nyong’o, and more in his list of crushes.
