Justin Gaethje shocked the world with a stellar performance against Tony Ferguson. Gaethje earned a shot against Khabib Nurmagomedov by winning the interim title. And that leaves the future of Conor McGregor in uncertainty.
It was believed that Conor McGregor would fight for the title next. However, at the moment it is Justin Gaethje who will get the title shot. Recently, McGregor showed his frustration and asked UFC to book a fight against Justin Gaethje for the interim lightweight championship. However, it did not sound like a good idea to the UFC president, Dana White.

There have been some speculations of a super fight between Conor Mcgregor and Anderson Silva too. But White believes Conor should wait until the title fight between Khabib and Justin, and fight the winner for the UFC title.
However, Khabib Nurmagomedov’s manager Ali Abdelaziz does not agree with Dana White. Addressing Conor’s recent retirement, Abdelaziz said:
“Same old p**tute, he wants attention. Right before Amanda Nunes had her moment. Stop it, Hey, I’m gonna send you location. Watch. I’m gonna get him to fight when I want him to fight if he wanna fight for titles. He can fight at 170 and 155. Right now, we have both.”

Ali Abdelaziz wants Conor McGregor to fight Jorge Masvidal
Conor McGregor last stepped into the octagon at UFC 246 against Donald Cerrone. Prior to that, he fought Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229. Talking about Conor’s inactivity, Abdelaziz made it clear that he wants Conor McGregor to stay busy. Abdelaziz continued:
“Right now, he on punishment for his bad behavior. Right now, he needs to sit down. Go fight Tony Ferguson, stay busy, stay active. Go fight Jorge Masvidal. You understand. Stay active, I want to see activity, you remember he used to say that to all of us? Guess what? Payback is a b**h. A lot of good business was done without Conor. The UFC does not stop without Conor. We don’t stop without Conor.”
Reportedly, Khabib Nurmagomedov is likely to defend his title against Justin Gaethje in UFC 252. Considering that, if Conor waits for the title shot then it can take place towards the end of the year. Will Conor sit out for such a long time period after an emphatic return? or Will Conor choose one of the super fights such as Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal?
It would be intriguing to see how things turn out for the former UFC two-division champion.
