Khabib Nurmagomedov will go down as one of the most notable UFC fighters. Often a name in the UFC GOAT conversations, Nurmagomedov has indeed left a lasting impact on the sport. However, while his life inside the Octagon is well documented, little is known about his life outside it.
For the most part, Khabib is known to be a family man. A lot has been made of Khabib and his relationship with his late father Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov. In addition to that, Khabib is also very close to his mother, his wife, and his children, all of whom he chooses to keep away from the public limelight.
Speaking about this in an old interview, Khabib explained his case. “I want to protect my family from media. Sometimes media is good, but sometimes media is crazy. You cannot be very good all the time with media.” Further, he adds, “I don’t want people watch on my kids, family all the time. This is my life. That’s why I protect my family from media. I don’t wanna post everything like oh, it’s my daughter, my wife. I wanna protect from this.”
What do we know about Khabib Nurmagomedov’s wife?
Despite his fame and success, Khabib prefers to lead a very private life. Previously, the 34-year-old Russian married Patimat, his childhood friend. Whilst there were also rumors of a relationship between Khabib and Russian pop star Olga Buzova, they were proven to be false.
In 2013, Khabib Nurmagomedov got married in Makhachkala, the capital of Dagestan, in Russia where his family later moved and settled. According to Khabib’s father, the wedding ceremony was an amazing event with many visitors congratulating the Nurmagomedov family. Moreover, he added that there were more than 4000 guests in attendance.

Up until recently, Khabib would leave Patimat behind in Makhachkala with his mother and children to coach Islam Makhachev and Usman Nurmagomedov.

Previously, Khabib stepped away from MMA for good. As a promise to his mother, Khabib would give up all things MMA, which included coaching and promoting.
