Michael Venom Page is loving life right now having made a successful UFC debut. Taking on a mainstay in Kevin Holland, there was a lot of curiosity about how MVP would do. On the night, he emerged as one of the biggest talking points from an event stacked top to bottom.
For those unaware, Michael Page finally made his arrival at the UFC known to the world at UFC 299. Fighting on the main card of an already stacked PPV event, the expectation was on the former Bellator man to deliver. On the night, MVP made an epic entrance to the Octagon, which was followed by an equally showy performance.

Despite not being able to add to his list of highlight reel knockouts, Page had a worthy debut, one that will certainly raise his stocks for years to come. Displaying his pinpoint striking prowess and showmanship, it is hard to argue for anyone, that they weren’t left impressed by the Englishman.
Michael Bisping reveals who Michael Venom Page should fight next
All in all, Michael Venom Page had a rather dominant performance against Kevin Holland. Catching his opponent with numerous spinning elbows and darting right hands, the newcomer put on a solid display. As such, it led many to wonder and theorize who he should be fighting next.
One of the MVP’s biggest advocates and fellow Englishman, Michael Bisping had an interesting take on the fighter’s next opponent. “I think you leapfrog Michael Page right up to a #6 fight with Ian Machado Garry. Why? Well, they’ve been talking a bit of shit. Ian Garry’s been talking sh*t, he’s been dismissing the threat of Michael Page”.
Further, Bisping added, “As a fan, I would love to see that fight. They’re both very tall. Ian Garry is 6’3, Michael Page is 6’3, they’re both strikers, they’re not gonna wrestle. We’re gonna see two tremendously talented strikers throw it down, and it’ll be a lot of fun”. With that said, it appears as though the former middleweight champ is adamant on an MVP vs Ian Garry matchup.
Michael Venom Page’s thoughts on a potential Stephen Thompson matchup
For the most part, fans want to see Michael Venom Page take on Stephen Thompson next. Considering that both are rangy, calculated strikers, both fighters share a lot of similarities with their game. As such, a matchup between MVP and Wonderboy is something that has been touted years in advance. Now, with both of them in the UFC, there is no time like the present for this fight to be made.
At the same time, Page, although up for the fight, doesn’t believe that it will be as interesting of a fight as many have suggested it will be. Speaking to Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, he said, “Two positives doesn’t always make a positive. What will be a great fight for me and Stephen Wonderboy Thompson, will look like a terrible fight for everybody else”. As such, MVP thinks that the viewers at home could be very bored of their fight.
With both of them going into their ‘point-fighting’ style, there could be a lot much happening, without it actually being visible. However, at the same time, Michael Venom Page admits, that things could go completely differently, and it may turn out very interesting. All things considered, the Englishman reveals that he gets on well with Wonderboy and has a lot of respect for him as well. What happens next, only time will tell.
