The biggest Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) superstar in the world narrowly avoided a tragic accident recently. Conor McGregor was nearly run over by an unsuspecting car while he was riding his bike. While the circumstances surrounding the accidents are not clear, judging by the videos Conor shared, it appeared that the driver did not notice Conor’s bike.
Fortunately for Conor, he got away with only a minor scratch on the side of his right buttock. However, MMA fans are having a field day with the incident. There is a viral fake video doing the rounds where Conor is riding his bike while humming a popular hip-hop song and it leads to him being run over by a car. It is needless to mention that the video is a fan edit and does not represent how the incident went down.
However, that has not stopped the MMA followers and fighters from using it to poke fun at the Irish superstar. His former rival and freshly free agent, Nate Diaz, also shared the viral video and added his own laughing emojis to the video. It is clear that the Stockton native found the clip very amusing. McGregor is yet to respond to any of the troll videos from Nate or the fans.
Conor McGregor wants the Nate Diaz trilogy
Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz share the most entertaining rivalry in the UFC. While Conor’s disputes with Dustin Poirier and Khabib Nurmagomedov have resulted in massive PPV events, his feud with Nate has been the most fun to follow. They first crossed paths at UFC 196, where Nate submitted McGregor via rear-naked choke.
But Conor McGregor came back to avenge his loss at UFC 202. The bout went the full distance and Conor won the bout via the judges’ decision. Although there were talks that the pair would complete their trilogy soon after, it has been 7 years. Meanwhile, Conor has boxed Floyd Mayweather, became the first ever UFC double champ, and broke his leg against Poirier at UFC 264.
Nate Diaz, on the other hand, has faced the likes Of Leon Edwards, and Jorge Masvidal, and left the company after UFC 279. He is in the running to be Jake Paul’s next opponent. But, after beating Tony Ferguson in his last fight, Nate Diaz promised that he would be back in the UFC after his boxing debut. It opens up a possibility of Conor vs Nate 3.
Congrats Nate Diaz on making it to the end of his contractual obligations with the UFC, and as a bonafide superstar goer. An incredible feat. Fair play.
Our trilogy will happen.— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) September 10, 2022
After Nate’s exit from the UFC, The Notorious One congratulated Diaz and revealed his intentions to complete their series of fights. However, if former UFC fighter Chael Sonnen is to be believed, Diaz turned down the opportunity to fight Conor despite a hefty $12 million offer. So it remains to be seen if the two get the opportunity to finish their trilogy in the UFC or not.
