UFC superstar Nate Diaz recently found himself in the middle of a couple of brawls. During the Misfits 6 boxing event, Diaz was first involved in a physical altercation where he threw water bottles at Chase DeMoor. Although it ended when the security personnel removed him from the arena, Nate later had a brawl with Logan Paul lookalike Rodney Petersen.
While the initially surfaced video showed that Nate choked him out despite Petersen being hesitant to engage, a later video painted a completely different picture. It showed that Diaz was being charged by a few unidentified people while he was retreating. At the time, the Paul doppelganger, Rodney Petersen was seen walking towards Nate with his hands up.

After that, Diaz was seen putting Rodney in a guillotine and then choking him unconscious. As a result of being unconscious on his feet, Rodney’s head hit the concrete and it busted him open. Due to the scuffle, NOPD (New Orleans Police Department) investigated the incident and issue an arrest warrant against Nate Diaz. Not just that, Nate is also being charged with second-degree battery.
Lawyer issues statement after Nate Diaz receives arrest warrant
In a statement, the NOPD confirmed that Diaz was not in custody just yet. However, it looks like there have been some major developments on that front. Zach Rosenfield, who is Diaz’s representative, recently revealed the fighter and his attorney, Walter Becker, have fought back against the notion. They also added that they have enough evidence to exonerate Nate from the charge.
The statement from Diaz’s camp read, “Nate’s attorney Walter Becker can confirm that Nate has received word of the arrest warrant and Becker has been in contact with court authorities in New Orleans. Nate’s attorney looks forward to presenting all of the facts… about this incident to the District Attorney which clearly demonstrate that a trained fighter named Rodney Petersen aggressively pursued Nate with the intention of engaging him and once doing so, Nate acted entirely in self-defense. No further comment will be made at this time.” (h/t via The MacLife)
Interestingly, they have added Rodney Petersen a trained fighter. While it was initially assumed that Rodney was just a social media influencer, upon further research, it has been discovered that Rodney is a jiu-jitsu practitioner. Not just that, Rodney recently announced on his Facebook account that he was going to sign up for boxing and even posted footage of him having an amateur fight.
So it will be interesting to see if the recent discovery will help Diaz vindicate himself or not. With Rodney now being portrayed as a trained fighter, will it may change the way the district attorney sees the case.

As for the Stockton native’s fighting career, he will make his boxing debut against another social media influencer, Jake Paul. However, with legal matters hanging over his head, Jake recently interacted with KSI about the possibility of replacing Nate on August 5, in Dallas, Texas. To which, Diaz retaliated by calling them “p**sys.”
