Tony Ferguson has long been considered one of the greatest lightweight fighters of all time. However, it’s safe to say that the former interim lightweight champion is way past his prime and his last few fights are testimony to his declining performance inside the Octagon. More importantly, his deteriorating relationship with UFC President Dana White is also a cause of concern considering he is 39 years old and is at the tail end of his MMA career.
Having lost five of his last five outings inside the cage, it won’t be a surprise if UFC fans wake up to the news of Tony Ferguson’s release one day. While there have been no reports regarding the same, Ferguson’s recent tweet slamming Dana White seems to be pointing at the same.
Did the UFC release Tony Ferguson?
There’s no official confirmation regarding Tony Ferguson’s release, however, as it stands, El Cucuy is in a situation where it won’t come as surprise if the UFC decided to do so.

In a recent tweet, Ferguson ignited rumors of his UFC release after he slammed UFC President Dana White and even threatened to take a class action lawsuit.
“It’s gonna take a class action lawsuit to let some these so called untouchables get a taste of there own medicine *mack* If this fucker treated his lady in public like that, how do you think he treats his fighters underneath” Ferguson tweeted.
Reacting to the tweet that has now gone viral, several UFC fans were confused regarding the sudden outburst from Tony Ferguson about his current boss. While some expressed their concern for what might have gone wrong leading to Tony Ferguson coming out on Twitter in such a fashion, others pointed towards Ferguson’s release from UFC sparking such a reaction.
