Paddy Pimblett on his fight with Rodrigo Vargas
Pimblett recently gave an interview to Nick Peer of BT Sport. In the interview, the fighter talked about his upcoming bout at UFC London and what to expect from him. Pimblett also discussed how the fight will go down and his only possibility of losing it.
Pimblett revealed that during his training camp he generally focuses on making himself better rather than thinking about his opponents.
He worked hard to get more efficient in every aspect of MMA. He talked about working on his wrestling, boxing, and kicking during his training camp. According to Pimblett, there is no way he is going to lose the fight against Vargas, except if gets caught by a lucky punch. But the fighter also is confident that he will not get knocked out.
“It’s all about getting yourself better, I don’t just sit there and focus on an opponent personally as some other people do…I focus on getting myself better and the stuff I have done this camp. Like getting my wrestling better, getting my kicking better, getting my boxing better, my jiu-jitsu is already a world-class level. But we’re getting that better as well. There’s no way that this fight goes where he can beat me literally just unless he lands one big lucky punch. But I just know we don’t get knocked out,” said Pimblett.
For Pimblett it’s a humongous event as it’s a fight on his home turf with home supporters. As a Brit, winning his fight in London is a wonderful moment to have. On top of that, it’s an opportunity for the fighter to continue his domination. Winning bouts is the only way for him shut the haters and prove that he is not just a hype train.
