Former UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker recently attended a Jordan Peterson show with his wife, Sofia Whittaker. Robert, who is coming off a big win over Marvin Vettori, took to his Twitter account to share a picture of him with his wife, while they were on their way to attend the event. But, it angered some fans who let their disapproval known online.
Robert Whittaker is not one of the controversial figures in the sport. While other middleweight fighters like Israel Adesanya and Paulo Costa are known for their trash talk, Whittaker maintains a low profile. Not only does he not engage in trash talk, but Robert is often complimentary of his opponents. His polite nature made him a very endearing personality for the fans.

However, some of them turned their backs on the Australian fighter after he attended the Jordan Peterson show earlier. While one fan claimed that they are removing his posters from their wall, another fan suggested that fighters need to be more careful about what they put out on social media.
Fans are upset at Robert Whittaker for attending a Jordan Peterson show
Jordan Peterson’s Twitter bio describes him as a clinical psychologist. Peterson was an associate professor at Harvard University and he was also an assistant at Harvard during his tenure at the prestigious institution from 1993 to 1998. However, his rise to fame comes through his viral clips where he was flexing his debate muscles. He is also the writer of the best-selling book “Maps Of Meaning: The Architecture of Belief.”
But, he is also a very controversial character and was removed from Twitter for some of his worldviews. However, after his takeover, Elon Musk recently reinstated Jordan Peterson on the micro-blogging site. However, that decision was met with a lot of backlashes. Hence, it is an accurate statement to add that Peterson is a very polarising character.
It looks like the retired psychology professor has some distractors amongst the UFC fans as well. Bobby Knuckles became their target after the 31-year-old attended the event.
Here are some fan reactions on the matter
I just ripped your poster off of the wall above my bed. I can’t believe you are listening to that conservative moron. You sir have officially lost a genuine supporter. Thank goodness I am a Colby Covington fan.

Well, this is disappointing. We might as well rip the bandaid off now.

Rob, what do you think of Andrew Tate, Kanye and Alex Jones? Smart guys with interesting philosophies on life or…?
Disappointing Rob. I know he’s basically everywhere and Rogan seems to love him, but he’s a total charlatan.

Robert Whittaker went from a beloved family man when he chose to donate bone marrow to his sick daughter rather than fighting for a world title, to a universally hated man because he took his wife to a Jordan Peterson show. Fighters need to hire PR firms now.

Wait…people hate Robert Whittaker now because he went and saw Jordan Peterson?

The Reaper had a great performance against Marvin Vettori at UFC Paris earlier this year. After the dominant decision win, he now shifts his focus to another former title contender, Paulo Costa. UFC announced earlier that Whittaker will fight Costa at UFC 284 in Australia. But, Costa recently threw a curve ball, as he revealed that he did not sign the contracts.
If the bout does end up happening, it will potentially determine the next title contender in the division. With Alex Pereira being the champ, it clears up the path for Robert to get a title shot if he can beat Costa on February 12th, 2023.
