Jones is considered to be a UFC great by some but is also heavily criticized by some fans as his MMA career is filled with multiple controversies. ‘Bones’ has been arrested multiple times for domestic violence, hit and run, and many more.
When is Jon Jones vs Francis Ngannou?
Jon Jones is rumored to fight the current heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou at UFC 285, in early 2023. Jones was also in discussion to make his comeback against Stipe Miocic, but later reports suggested that Francis Ngannou was UFC’s first choice to face Jones.
The super fight between Jones and Ngannou is one of the most anticipated events in the promotion and the fight fans are eagerly waiting to witness this bout. Ngannou is still recovering from his knee surgery and hasn’t competed since defeating Ciryl Gane at UFC 270.
Following the bout, ‘The Predator’ had to get surgery for his torn ACL and MCL, which he suffered even before the fight. Ngannou will return to action after an absence of more than one year. If Ngannou fails to make preparation for this fight in time, Curtis Blaydes will be there as a replacement for him.
Meanwhile, Jones has bulked up for his heavyweight debut and he has been ready to compete for a long time. However, his comeback was postponed because of negotiations and also because Ngannou was recovering from his surgery.
Jones is one of the most accomplished fighters in the history of the promotion and his clash with the current heavyweight champ is guaranteed to be a blockbuster. Jones vs. Ngannou is rumored to take place in March but the UFC has yet to make an official announcement.
