Gilbert Burns trashed Nate Diaz, after the Stockton native called out both Kamaru Usman and Gilbert Burns in his tweet, where he claimed that their match-up at UFC 251 is “not a title fight.” Diaz trashed Kamaru Usman and stated that he should have fought the guy next in line, possibly referring to Jorge Masvidal, and should not have fought Gilbert Burns. Diaz also accused Gilbert Burns for settling for less amount, and targeted Kamaru Usman for settling for less because they know “they’re not worth shit.”

Nate Diaz’s tweet quickly gained attention and saw reactions pouring in from both Kamaru Usman and Gilbert Burns. Kamaru Usman also hit back at Diaz’s opinion that “it’s not a title fight” by putting out fight stats of both Gilbert Burns and Nate Diaz to prove his point. Usman also called out Nate Diaz for ducking when the chance was open for him to get a title shot against him for the welterweight championship. Gilbert Burns went a step further and thrashed Nate Diaz for his remarks.

Gilbert Burns feels Nate Diaz should say thanks to Conor McGregor
After Nate Diaz accused Gilbert Burns for accepting low pay, Burns came all guns blazing at Nate Diaz. Gilbert Burns didn’t quite like what Diaz had to say, and replied to him in the most befitting manner possible.

Gilbert Burns trashed Diaz for his less than impressive fight record. He also stated how Diaz has only fought 3 times in the last four years. Diaz took a long three year hiatus after back to back fights against Conor McGregor. He made his much anticipated return against Anthony Pettis at UFC 241, picking up a unanimous decision victory, and later fought in the highly publicized BMF title match against Jorge Masvidal at UFC 244.

Gilbert Burns didn’t stop here, and asked Diaz to thank Conor McGregor for his payout inside UFC. Burns cited Diaz’s pay for his lightweight title match against Rafael Dos Anjos which was reported at $16k, and claimed that Nate’s success has a lot to do with Conor McGregor.

Diaz was reportedly fined a 20% of his fees, after missing weight for the lightweight title match against Rafael Dos Anjos at UFC Fight Night back in 2014.
