The UFC lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov is not done yet. Though he has solidified his legacy as the greatest lightweight to ever grace the octagon he seems to have some unfinished business.
After a lot of speculations, Khabib Nurmagomedov has finally announced his return with his recent post on Instagram. Khabib said: “See you soon Dana White”. And it’s very likely that the lightweight champion eyeing an octagon return in the near future.
Khabib last fought at UFC 254 against Justin Gaethje. Many believed that Gethje would be the toughest test for the lightweight king. However, Khabib put on the most impressive performance of his career and secured a submission victory. Khabib has beaten some of the biggest names in the sport and the question that intrigues the fans right now is who is next for the Eagle?

Who is next for Khabib Nurmagomedov?
There are some huge matchups ahead of Nurmagomedov in UFC. The biggest fight has to be the rematch with Conor McGregor. Though Khabib beat McGregor convincingly at UFC 229 Conor has bounced back from the loss. He takes on Dustin Poirier at UFC 257. And if he finishes Poirier in a dominant fashion then it would be hard to deny him a title shot.
Justin Gaethje was done after one round with Khabib Nurmagomedov, who was coming from a personal loss and multiple injuries. Dustin Poirier had no answers to the skillsets of Khabib Nurmagomedov. However, Conor McGregor did extremely well in the first and third rounds of his fight against Khabib. And it has to be considered that he was coming off a two-year-long layoff. With momentum on his side, Conor might cause an upset in the rematch.
Besides the Conor rematch, a legacy fight against Georges St-Pierre is also on the table for Khabib. He has already called out GSP on numerous occasions. And GSP is certainly interested to make a return for this fight. If UFC can make this fight happen then it will be one of the biggest super fights in UFC history.
