Brock Lesnar sent MMA fans into a frenzy after he announced himself as a free agent post failing to come to negotiations with the WWE. Soon after the news, Jon Jones called out Brock Lesnar for a potetial showdown at the heavyweight division. Jon Jones vacated the light heavyweight title after he announced his move to the heavyweight division. Amid rumors of a potential showdown between Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic for the UFC Heavyweight Championship, the addition of Brock Lesnar has brought up interesting match-ups into the mix.
Earlier Stipe Miocic stated that if Brock Lesnar does make a return to the octagon, he should be the one to welcome him back and rightfully so. With back to back victories over former dual Champion Daniel Cormier, Stipe Miocic has cemented himself as probably the greatest heavyweight of all time.
Stipe Miocic confident he will finish Brock Lesnar
Stipe Miocic will go down as probably the greatest heavyweight fighter of all time. With notable victories over Daniel Cormier, Francis Ngannou, Cain Velasquez, Alistair Overeem among others, Miocic has cemented himself as one of the greatest to step inside the octagon. The Baddest Man on the Planet is unarguably the best fighter and a potential showdown against Brock Lesnar is an absolute barn-burner.
There’s a reason to believe that Francis Ngannou is the most logical step for Stipe Miocic next. However, Miocic has cleared the entire heavyweight division with a dominant decision win over Ngannou in the past. While Ngannou has improved leaps and bounds since then, he is still coming with successive first round knockouts like the last time around to face Stipe Miocic.
Additionally, Stipe Miocic vs Jon Jones also makes sense considering both the fighters are undisputed greats of their respective division. With Jones announcing him move to the heavyweight division, it will be interesting to see Stipe Miocic’s journey as the UFC Heavyweight Champion going forward.
“I will fight anyway. There’s no question. I will take that fight in a heartbeat.” Miocic continued, “It will be an early night for me. I love that fight.” Miocic stated.
When asked whether it’s the fight that can happen considering Brock Lesnar is now a free agent, Miocic stated, “You never know. We will see.”
