Terrance McKinney made his return inside the UFC Apex octagon to take on Eric Gonazlez in a three round bout scheduled on the main card of UFC Fight Night: Santos vs Hill. Initially, McKinney was supposed to fight on the prelims of this event. However, this fight was shifted to the main card after the cancellation of the Ariane Lipski vs Priscila Cachoeira matchup.

Going into this fight, T-Wrecks suffered his first UFC loss after getting knocked out by Drew Dober in his last fight. However, that knockout loss didn’t affect his stock as he put on a great show against Dober and almost finished him.

It is needless to say that fight fans around the world were excited to see McKinney as the lightweight prospect is one of the most aggressive fighters on the roster with great knockout power and submission skills. Consequently, Terrance McKinney delivered to the expectations and bounced back strongly as he dominated Erick Gonazalez and submitted him in the first round via rear naked choke.

As soon as the fight started, T-Wrecks pushed forward and used his speed to land several jabs. He mixed it up with some good left hooks and put Gonzalez on the back foot. However, the latter landed a good shot during one of the exchanges and stunned McKinney.

Thereafter Terrance landed a brilliant takedown and took the back of Erick. The 27 year old lightweight fighter jumped on the back of Gonazalez and locked in a rear naked choke and made his opponent tap out.
