Joe Rogan has made his views known about Liver King and the massive lawsuit that he has been struck with. On his ‘Joe Rogan Experience‘ podcast, the UFC commentator was discussing Liver King, aka Brian Johnson, and what went wrong with him. He explained what a hard-working man he must be but his lie has ruined him.
Rogan said, “You don’t get that way without putting a lot of work. That guy works hard, there’s no way you get there without the hard work. Like, the real tragedy in this is that this guy had an opportunity to say what’s possible with chemical intervention. ‘Here’s the pros and cons [of using steroids] and this is the dangers of it. And also this is the nutrition that I take to optimize my body which is also critical.'”
Johnson has been caught up in a $25 million lawsuit because he has lied to his audience. A fitness social media personality, Johnson promotes ‘ancestral living’. He recommends eating liver daily and in ancestral living, he recommends having large amounts of raw organs and meat.
Rogan explained, “So, what he’s [Johnson’s] done is very very very impressive, but he lied. Right? that’s the problem.”
His fans were under the impression that his amazing physique is all because of his unique diet. However, it was found out that he used to take steroids. Rogan explained that Johnson could have taken the opportunity to preach about the correct use of it instead of hiding it.
Liver King apologizes for lying after being struck with $25 million lawsuit
In an exclusive new interview with ABC News Studios’ IMPACT x Nightline, Johnson came out to talk about his controversy for the first time. The ‘Liver King’ had built a following of about 5 million viewers as he attributed his hypermasculine physique to ‘ancestral living’. However, a leaked email revealed that he was using quite modern substances. Each month, Johnson was supplementing with more than $11,000 worth of performance-enhancing drugs.
Late last year, on his YouTube channel, he came clean about his drug use. On the other hand, during that period, he was also hit with a $25 million class-action lawsuit. According to The Insider, the lawsuit alleged that Johnson and his company misled customers with “cult-like” practices.

Johnson recently said in an interview with ABC News Studios, “People say all the time, ‘Oh, he just said he’s sorry because he got caught.’ Well yeah, that’s completely true. I’m not really saying I’m sorry because I got caught, I’m saying I’m sorry because what I did was wrong, and this was the whole thing that brought it to light.”
Johnson even went on to say that the drugs allowed him to “live a pretty kickass life.” He talked about how drugs helped him fight feelings of inadequacy and exhaustion from compulsive exercise. This was partly in line with Rogan’s advice. Rogan had explained how Johnson could have used his platform to talk about the pros and cons of consuming drugs.
