Aljamain Sterling finds himself in the middle of a fresh controversy as he posts pictures with Andrew Tate on his Twitter account.
UFC Bantamweight Champion Aljamain Sterling is in the UAE for UFC 280. In what promises to be an insanely entertaining event, he will fight the no. 2 ranked contender in the division TJ Dillashaw. Ahead of the bout, it looks like Sterling is having a fun time in the country as he can be seen posting pictures of himself, exploring the region.
During one such occasion, Aljo ran into former kickboxing champion and controversial internet celebrity, Andrew Tate. Andrew, who was linked to fighting Jake Paul a few months ago, made some comments in the past which can be perceived as somewhat misogynistic. For his past comments, Tate has also been banned from all the major social media sites.
Recently Sterling posted pictures of him posing alongside Tate in the UAE. In the picture, The Funk Master could be seen smiling and having a good time with both Andrew and his brother Tristan Tate. But it did not go down particularly well with some of the fans on social media.
Some were outraged by the photos as they questioned why Aljo would hang out with a controversial figure like Tate, who was caught making some harsh comments on the opposite gender on tape. In response, Sterling clarified his stance on the issue. Although Aljo did not have any bad experiences with them, he revealed that he does not agree with all of Tate’s opinions.
You know that shit is fake right? The information is literally out there or y’all can keep listening to the painted narrative that’s much easier to digest. I dug into and was relieved that they aren’t actually shit people. And no, not everything they’ve said, I agree with. https://t.co/WwRvnuwEQf

Fighters are public figures and they have a large following around the world. Hence, it is not possible for them to do a background check on every person that they meet. The 135lbs champ pointed that out in a follow-up tweet.
I appreciate the words. I don’t live by his moniker, but I understand some things he gets at and understand how some things are out of context in short format clips. That said, I don’t agree w/everything from all people I’ve met or spoken with nor do I have time to vet everything https://t.co/lGM2tb7Wcm

Will Andrew Tate attend UFC 280?
Andrew Tate is in the UAE and there is a possibility that he may attend the upcoming UFC PPV. The event was almost a sell-out shortly after the card was announced. However, UFC always has big celebrities in the cage-side seats. But, a recent report suggests that the demands for such spots are so high that the company is now unable to provide them.
Recently, another star in UFC’s bantamweight division, Sean O’Malley, revealed that Tate is certainly interested in making an appearance in the event. But, with UFC unable to provide more tickets, there is no guarantee that Andrew may get the chance to be at UFC 280. Even Sugar Sean is unsure of whether the former kickboxer will be there or not.
“I don’t know, we’re trying. He’s gonna be there supposedly [at UFC 280]. Well I don’t know if he’s going to be able to get a ticket. So if he doesn’t get a ticket, he probably won’t come.” (h/t via SportsKeeda)
