UFC is all set to hold their second Pay-per-view event of the year 2022 this Saturday at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. The headline bout will be a super exciting middleweight title fight between Israel Adesanya vs Robert Whittaker. Other than the main card, the prelims also have several fights that have attracted the attention of the fight fans. One of such fights is the light heavyweight bout between Carlos Ulberg vs Fabio Cherant. Here’s the fight breakdown and prediction of the bout.
Ulberg (3-1) made his way into the UFC through Dana White’s Contender Series 34. His debut match-up was against Kennedy Nzechukwu at UFC 259 which, unfortunately, the fighter lost via KO in March 2021. It was Ulberg’s first-ever professional MMA loss and he will be looking forward to getting his first win against Cherant. Ulberg comes from the famous gym, City Kickboxing Gym. He shares his roots among fighters like Dan Hooker and the current middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya.
Cherant(7-3) is a slightly experienced fighter and debuted in UFC last year at UFC 260. The American is currently in a bad position as he has lost two consecutive fights in UFC and is very hungry for registering that first win in the promotion, similar to Ulberg.

UFC 271 Prelims: Carlos Ulberg vs Fabio Cherant Prediction and Fight Breakdown:
The fight is between two rookies who are willing to give everything they got to mark their name in the business. Going into the fight, Ulberg will certainly have the height and reach advantage which will help the fighter to land strikes from a distance. The Kiwi is an all-out striker with a dynamic range. The fighter will look forward to keeping the fight on the feet and out volume, Cherant, and finally getting the decisive shot.
On the other hand, Cherant is someone who utilizes every weapon in his arsenal to defeat his opponents. But he has a massive striking disadvantage which the fighter has to minimize by using his ground game. If he takes down Ulberg and keeps him on the ground, that might be one of the ways for him to win. Cherant can also exploit Ulberg’s lack of cardio.
If the fight continues for long it can create problems for Ulberg which was observed in the fight against Nzechukwu. But it seems harder for Cherant to survive against Ulberg till that long.
