The list of commentators for UFC 273 has been revealed! However, there is one key change to the lineup that took the commentary booth during the last Pay Per View (PPV) event.
While the previous PPV had Jon Anik, Joe Rogan and Michael Bisping calling the fights, according to a report from MMA Fighting, Paul Felder will be replacing the former UFC middleweight champion for this particular event.
While Anik will provide the play by play commentary, Rogan and Felder will provide their expert opinions throughout the broadcast. The ace comedian Rogan will also interview the fighters inside the Octagon after each fight.
The voice of UFC, Bruce Buffer will be there as the ring announcer too. Buffer’s voice has become synonymous with UFC and his high octane style of making the announcements helps to make every UFC card feel ‘big-time’.
Megan Olivi will also be present during the event as the on-site reporter. She usually provides the necessary background information for each fighter during their walkouts.
Fights to look out for at UFC 273
The first fight on the list has to be the main event of the night. The 145lbs champion Alexander Volkanovski will try to keep his unbeaten UFC streak going as he fights ‘The Korean Zombie’ Chan-sung Jung. Although the champ is the overwhelming favourite to retain the belt, Zombie is a dynamic fighter who possesses the power to end the fight at any time.
The co-main event is a rematch of a fight that took place almost a year ago. Petr Yan‘s illegal knee allowed Aljamain Sterling to walk away with the belt. After many delays, they will finally step inside the Octagon to settle the score.
However, the most talked-about fight on the card will be a 15 minute blockbuster between Khamzat Chimaev and Gilbert Burns. Chimaev has gotten most of the coverage throughout the fight week despite there being two other UFC champions. That proves just how big of a star Khamzat really is.
Elsewhere, Jairzinho Rozenstruik will fight Marcin Tybura in the heavyweight division in the prelims of the event. But in the main event of the prelims, undefeated Irish welterweight fighter Ian Garry will fight Darian Weeks.
