What a night it has been!! UFC 254 was advertised to be the best card for this year. And so far it has not disappointed at all. The fight fans have seen some exciting finishes and brutal wars. However, nothing tops the knockout from UFC debutant Phil Hawes against Jacob Malkoun.
After a spectacular performance in Dana WHite’s contender series, Hawes made his UFC debut on the biggest card of this year, UFC 256. And he had the best debut that any fighter could ask for.

The fight lasted for only 18 seconds before Hawes landed the knockout blow. That was one of the scariest knockouts of the night as the referee and Phil Hawes himself was concerned for Jacob Malkoun.
Phil Hawes makes history on UFC debut
With this win, Phil Hawes holds the record for one of the fastest wins in UFC middleweight history. The fastest win still belongs to Mark Weir who knocked out Eugene Jackson in 10 seconds on UFC 38.
FASTEST UFC FINISHES – Middleweight History
0:10 – Mark Weir UFC 38
0:14 – Terry Martin UFC 67
0:17 – Khamzat Chimaev UFCFN: Covington vs. Woodley
0:17 – John Phillips UFCFN: Hermansson vs. Cannonier

UFC president, Dana White has already made some huge claims about Hawes after his performance on DWCS. He has even compared him to the boxing legend, Mike Tyson. If Hawes can put up impressive finishes like these it will be hard to not catapult him to the top of the division.
With the addition of Phil Hawes, the UFC middleweight division is stacked with some of the greatest talents in the world right now. It would be intriguing to see how does Hawes performs when he takes on the top 10 fighters in the middleweight division.
