The stage is set for UFC Vegas 47 at UFC apex Nevada, Nevada this Saturday night. Apart from the main event fight between Sean Strickland and Jack Hermansson the fight card has many exciting match-ups. One such bout is between Julian Erosa and Steven Peterson. This featherweight fight will kick off the main card this Saturday.
Julian Erosa is coming off a win to fight. He submitted Charles Jourdain via a D’arce choke in his last fight. Erosa debuted in the year 2015 but has been on and off in the promotion. This is his third run at the UFC. He has won four out of his last five fights. A win against an aggressive fighter like Steven Peterson will certainly help his resume.
On the other hand, Steven Peterson made his UFC debut in the year 2018. He has a record of 3-2 in the promotion. With two back-to-back losses, the fighter was about to get cut off the promotion. But, an illustrious spinning back fist to win against Martin Bravo saved his contract. He is also coming off a win against Chase Hooper via decision at UFC 263 and would be looking forward to continuing his winning momentum.

UFC Fight Night, Julian Erosa vs Steven Peterson Stats, Fight Breakdown and Prediction
Both the fighters are stylistically aggressive, constantly looking for finishes. Hence, fight fans would be on their toes throughout the fight. Both Peterson and Erosa are capable of exchanging strikes on the feet and have a decent ground game.
Peterson has fought only once since 2019, which might be an advantage for Erosa who has been much more active. However, out of the two Peterson has the better cardio. So, Erosa should come up with a plan on how to efficiently use his energy throughout the fight.
Julian Erosa is technically more sound when it comes to boxing. So, if he tries to lean on Peterson with his boxing without splitting up the guard he should get the decision in favor of him.
It is safe to say that if Julian utilizes his ground skill properly to defend Peterson’s takedown attempts and stick to boxing he will take the decision to win to his name.
