Sam Alvey is going to face Brendan Allen at UFC Vegas 47 in a light heavyweight bout. The fight is scheduled at UFC APEX, Enterprise, Nevada (US). Apart from the main event fight between Sean Strickland and Jack Hermansson, this bout was also an exciting matchup.
Sam Alvey is coming off 2 losses. The UFC veteran’s last win was in the year 2018 against Guan Villante. Since then the fighter has lost 6 fights and managed to draw one. His momentum is pretty bad hence he would be desperate for a win.
On the other hand, Brendan Allen debuted in the promotion in the year 2019 and won his first three fights. It included a finish against Kevin Lee. However, he is also coming off a loss against Chris Curtis at UFC fight night Font vs Aldo. Curtis came to the fight on short notice and still managed to pull off an upset against Allen. However, a win against Alvey will certainly help Brendan going forward in the promotion.

Sam Alvey vs Brendan Allen Fight Breakdown and Prediction
Allen has a BJJ black belt and hence is a good grappler. He will also be more comfortable implementing his skills at light heavyweight. Brendan’s last victory against Punahele showed he can put up the volume required as he outstruck Soriano with 94 strikes in a 3 round bout.
Nevertheless, his loss against Chris Curtis also exposed his chin as he got rocked by a right hook. So, Allen has to be careful regarding that, as Alvey certainly has the knockout power considering he has put 19 of his opponents to sleep.
Allen is versatile and is a rising prospect of the promotion while Alvey is on a downfall. Brendan should take the fight to the ground and look for fast submission. The only trouble for Allen is Alvey’s hard counter left, if he manages to avoid that this should seal the fight for him.
