Tony Ferguson has made a huge claim against Michael Chandler who recently rained down on El Cucuy for offering him to fight in December. Chandler claimed that Ferguson brought to the end moment before putting down his offer to main-event UFC 256 later this year. Chandler further stated that he is willing to fight Ferguson in the co-main event of UFC 257: Dustin Poirier vs Conor McGregor.
El Cucuy took to Twitter and claimed that Chandler has already accepted a fight. “Stop crying,” Ferguson said and put an ultimatum on his offer.
UFC has said you have already accepted Another Fight ese! So @MikeChandlerMMA stop crying to @espnmma about fighting me. You want to compete against me I’ll be in Vegas Dec 12. Accept or we move on. -Champ Shit Only™️ kid ⚔️🕶 🇺🇸🏆🇲🇽 F’kn #AmateurHour # BeGon’Thot pic.twitter.com/Ua4p4moi8W

There’s a reason to believe Michael Chandler could have possibly accepted a fight against former interim champion Justin Gaethje. The “Highlight” has been eyeing for his UFC return ever since the submission loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov back at UFC 254.
Who will Tony Ferguson fight next?
Tony Ferguson doesn’t have a lot of options left for him. If UFC goes ahead with Michael Chandler vs Justin Gaethje, El Cucuy might have to wait around till he gets his chance to fight the top contenders of the division.
Moreover, Tony Ferguson was initially scheduled to take on Dustin Poirier. However, after the “Notorious” expressed his interest in fighting the “Diamond.” Poirier accepted the fight and both the lightweights will take on each other to open the year with UFC 258.
Meanwhile, Ferguson has an option ahead of him in the form of Dan Hooker. However, Hooker is coming off a unanimous decision loss over Dustin Poirier. Moreover, it won’t be as exciting as other match-ups for the former interim champion. Additionally, there’s very little to gain for the El Cucuy with a win over Dan Hooker.
Who is Michael Chandler fighting next?
If Tony Ferguson is to be believed, Chandler could be looking at a potential match-up against Justin Gaethje. Both the fighters are former wrestlers who are sure to create fireworks inside the Octagon. Additionally, with Gaethje’s win over Ferguson, it makes more sense for Chandler to take the fight against the “Highlight.”
Should Chandler get a win over Gaethje, a potential Conor McGregor fight or a title shot for the UFC’s lightweight championship is a likely possibility.
