“Bella was destined to become a member of the UFC family her entire life, and I’m proud that she’s making history as our first NIL ambassador in one of the best programs at the University of Iowa,” Dana said. “Bella is an incredible role model for young women who are not only looking to get into sports but also pursue their dreams. She’s on another level, and we can’t wait to see what she does next,” he adds.
In a statement, Bella states she is very grateful to President Dana White and the UFC for the opportunity. As such, she is determined to do her best in representing the UFC and hitting new heights in her MMA career. Notably, the UFC has also signed a sponsorship deal to support the University of Iowa men’s and women’s wrestling programs.
For the most part, NIL deals are relatively new in the world of amateur sports. These deals allow college-student athletes to be compensated for use of their image for public purposes, endorsements, and social media.
Bella Mir’s achievements and MMA record
Becoming a NIL ambassador for the world’s most prominent MMA organization is certainly no small matter. However, for Mir, achievements are a common matter. Before joining the women’s wrestling team at Iowa, Mir was a four-time Nevada state high school wrestling champion, where she ranked #6 nationally in the 144 lbs. division.
Moreover, she was also a 2021 USA Wrestling Junior Folkstyle National Champion. Additionally, the 19-year-old is a decorated jiu-jitsu practitioner, winning the 2022 American National Jiu-Jitsu and 2021 International Jiu-Jitsu Con Championships.
As mentioned previously, Bella is currently 3-0 as an MMA fighter. Making her professional debut on October 10, 2020, she secured a unanimous decision victory against Danielle Wynn in the iKon Fighting Federation. Further, she went on to beat Alma Cespedes Flores via rear-naked choke.
In her latest fight, Mir took on Jessica Link-Davis at Xtreme Fight Night 381. On the night, “Lady” defeated her opponent via armbar in Round 1. With a long list of accolades already under her belt, the sky is the limit for Bella. As such, her father, Frank Mir previously stated that he is looking forward to fighting his last fight on the same card as his daughter.
Bella Mir’s family: father, mother, and siblings
Although we know all about her father, Frank Mir, relatively less is known about the rest of Isabella’s family. As such, Bella’s family consists of her father Frank, her mother Jessica Mir, and her two younger brothers, Cage and Ronin Mir. Similar to her father and herself, her younger brother Cage has shown interest in combat sports.
After their marriage in 2004, Frank and his wife welcomed Isabella shortly after. A few years later, the couple was blessed with Cage. Also known as Kage Mir, the youngster played football for the Vegas Strong Football team, winning the U-14 National championship. Moreover, Kage is also interested in wrestling and has been seen practicing with his father on numerous occasions.
Kage is also known to practice with his sister, Bella, showing a good bond between the two siblings. Bella’s youngest brother, Ronin Maximus Mir, was born on June 2009 and is said to be an avid fan of sports. Lastly, Bella Mir also has a half-brother by the name of Marcus, from her mother’s previous relationship.
